GST calculator

Add GST to a price, or take it out of a price that already includes it. Pick the rate, say where the buyer is, and the split is done for you.

The amount is

GST rate

Buyer is in

Taxable value₹1,000.00
CGST 2.5%₹25.00
SGST 2.5%₹25.00
Total GST₹50.00
Invoice total₹1,050.00

Exclusive: the taxable value stays exact and GST is added on top.

On a real bill you don't do this either. Say "Mehta Industries ko 2,40,000 ka maal, GST alag se" and the app applies the rate from your catalogue, splits it by place of supply and prints the invoice. GST in the app.

Questions

About GST arithmetic

How do I remove GST from a price that already includes it?

Divide the inclusive amount by (100 + rate) and multiply by 100 to get the taxable value; the difference is the tax. For ₹1,180 at 18%: taxable ₹1,000, GST ₹180. The calculator does this when you choose "price includes GST".

When is it CGST + SGST and when is it IGST?

If the place of supply is in the same state as your GST registration, the rate is split equally into CGST and SGST (9% + 9% for an 18% item). If the buyer is in another state, the whole rate is charged as IGST. Union territories use UTGST in place of SGST.

Which GST rates exist now?

Since 22 September 2025 most goods and services fall in 5% or 18%, with 40% for a small set of goods, 3% and 0.25% for precious metals and stones, and 0% for exempt items. A handful of items sit at 1.5% and 28%. The calculator offers all of them plus a custom rate.

Does rounding matter?

Yes, on a statutory document. GST law allows tax to be rounded to the nearest rupee per invoice, and the AawazAI app keeps the amount you said exact: inclusive keeps the gross exact and derives the tax, exclusive keeps the taxable value exact and adds the tax, so what you quoted is what the bill shows.
